BS185 (look it up with the link provided below - I dare you)

Today, I yelled at a friend for his sexism, which frustrated me because it wasn't the right way to make my point. I thought a lot about sexism today. It pisses me off. I also realized why women wear gloves when doing dishes. It isn't a vain attempt for soft hands, or having soft hands to please men, it is because hot water is good for cleaning but burns flesh. By wearing gloves, we can use hot water to kill germs rather than chemicals. I wondered how many other things I had rejected because they were defined not in terms of their use, but their impact on men via women. I wondered if the past wasn't as sexist as we think it is. Men write the history, but history isn't reality. Reality, real life, from the past is gone. What remains, however, are histories, yes, but more importantly, artifacts. My new idea today is to go to antique shops and examine the things women used to use.

I also cataloged my book collection with the LoC Catalog. I was thinking about doing it by author, but decided on LoC. Of my three religious texts, the Quran and Bible had call numbers, but Science and Health didn't. The image indictes that over 10 million copies of that book have been sold, but I got my copy for free from a UM Christian Science student group. I have not read it, but I like to collect religious texts. I usually take Gideon's bibles from hotels but have yet to obtain my free copy of the Book of Mormon. My copy of the Quran, however, is an English translation from Yusef Ali that I purchased from an Eau Claire used book seller.

LoC doesn't have a number for this book
