Happy Juneteenth!

Today, I had my first day of my project management class, and I had lunch with my boss. I had forgotten that I had DBT in the evening, so I couldn't work out. There was a lot of hubub about the project happening at the warehouse, and I learned at the end of the day that one of my contractors had left at 2 to take care of what turned out to be a broken finger.

After DBT, I went to the mall to try and find some tops that did not cling to my armpits nearly as badly. I managed to find two blouses and got five pairs of underpants for $20. I walked around a bit and made my way to Nordstroms to look at shoes and called Rohit to talk about what had happened today at the warehouse. He briefed me as I tried on the clearance shoes. After that, I think I went home.
Juneteenth
Juneteenth is the oldest known celebration commemorating the ending of slavery in the United States. On June 19th, 1865, Union soldiers landed at Galveston, Texas and announced that the war was over and the enslaved were now free. Until that date, Texas had few Union troops - too few to enforce the executive order from the Emancipation Proclamation made effective on January 1, 1963.

Juneteenth has since become a worldwide holiday celebrating African American freedom and emphasizing achievement and education.
