The Dream, Realized

I was in Berkeley, CA, on Telegraph and Bancroft, among a group of students, cheering, smiling, waving an American flag, shouting "O-ba-ma", "Yes-We-Can", and surreally, "U-S-A". For the first time in my adult life, I was truly proud of my nation. When I am in Frankfurt this weekend, when I am in Angola for the next two weeks, I can hold my head high as an American, and declare that yes, I did vote for that man.

In January, the descendants of slaves will move into 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Yes, we can.
