![]() R, S, and I did a lot of this tower. D and A helped with the base. Part of the tower was structurally unsound, and R threw it away at the end of the class. I was truly heartbroken, for like, a second. | I got up today and cobbled together an outfit from the fact that I wanted to wear my maroon head scarf with yellow circles and my VBCA IM shirt. I put on my plum/maroon cami (inside out to conceal a stain - shhh!) and my Iowa* skirt. I decided not to work out tonight**, and headed to the park for the last half day of my class. The instructor had a much better raport with the students today [or we had a better raport with him]. And I had a lot of fun with the building of the tower you see on the left. Actually, the tower my team made was shorter, but it still won among the other two because ours was stable. I also got to work with R, who seems to be the person in my classes that I like the most. I also seem to like a different R and L - C too. I definitely do not dislike anyone though. At the end of the class, we made the tower as you see it. Then I called my grandmother. I reiterated the things I told her at Christmas, that she has been a positive influence on my life in the sense that she helped to give us all a strong sense of hard work and personal strength. Mainly because I think that is the truth and it is more or less the only thing I can think of to tell her anymore. After that, I began onboarding my newest indexer, B. I was hyperaware that I might look disorganized, mainly because I didn't really have a perfect routine for onboarding. There are just too many factors for onboarding still, and I probably do it better than anyone else, but I still try to make the reasons behind my actions clear. After getting the badge, activating it, and explainging the job, he followed me to Dublin. And... While setting up Boxy Brown for the first time, we found that it didn't work! So, I introduced him to the others working at the warehouse, and then had him shadow C and V while I went to work, doing things with my stuff. Fixing the computer, calling the agencies, following up on the class today, assigning retention, examining folders, answering questions, and reviewing GO-1698s. V left, A left, my new B left, then the other B tried to stay longer, but his boss told him he couldn't stay any longer, then C came over and gave me some cookies. We talked for a bit, then we went back to work. At about 5, I packed up and went to make sure C was ready to go. That brings me to 5:10, she finished something, we kept talking, and left at 5:20. |
I thought of going to Whole Foods for dinner, but decided against it. I drove home, sat down, and called Will. Just over 2 hours later
- 50 minutes on the phone with Will
- A half hour or so responding to EL and talking with R
- Most of the remaining time spent on this post
*So named not only because I bought it in Iowa, but it reminds me of the short film "The Home Economic Story", which was filmed at Iowa State, the High School after High School
**I'm really not that interested in exercise as a hobby, and I loathe the possibility that I might have to be in order to lose all the weight I gained because of one inept prescription
